On to the gridiron!
Now that football season is approaching, we need to see where everyone stands on the season before we get into all the "I told you so" commentary come week 8.
Please place your #1 for each of the following, feel free to add a category:

There's so much more, I know. But let's start here. I'd like to have everyones opinion documented nice and early ;-)

Tell you what fellas, I'll go ahead and post the correct answers when you saps get done guessing!
Everyone, please excuse Aneesh. He's on some medication that is acting as a hallucinagin. The same medicine he was taking last year when he thought the redskins were gonna dominate. Instead, he watched them squeak into the playoffs by the slimest margin I've ever seen!
Maybe the 5 or so new starters will help them lose in the first round with more class. If they make the playoffs, that is.
First of all you won a wild-card game. Which is a fight to see who's the worst.
You haven't won a legit playoff game in 15 years! Meanwhile, everyone else in your division has gone to (and a couple have won) the big dance. The redskins are a hype story. That's all they'll ever be.
And, in the end, you bamas will be sitting in the parking lot of FedEx field making suggestions on how you can "get 'em next year..." Pathetic.
Tyler, lets bet on that....
Niners will be better than they were this past year.
Better being garbage and expecting it than being left out in the cold like the Cowboys did last year! You went to the same playoffs as us homeboy! We'll keep a seat warm for you in the stands, though I think you'll be the ones who make it to the playoffs and lose in the first round this year.
Oh, and to you Aneesh. The wildcard you played for is not in the ilk of the Steelers and Bengals. Just like the NL wildcard isn't like the Red Sox. I'm not saying that ALL wildcard games are bum-filled, just the ones the Redskins play in!
Let me tell you something about them bama ass skins... ahem
* I hate the colors
* I hate the bama-ass fans
* I hate the paraphanelia
* I really hate the custom go-go song about them that plays every week
*I hate the excuses you bamas make for them after they lose
* I hate the chitter-chatter of ignorant fans (a la Aneesh), that I've heard for the last 7 years I've been in DC
Even you have to admit that the fan-base (at least on the metro) are the most annoying people in the world! Every other word is a "joe" or "jont" or "youngin" or "slim". And the team is always "lunchin joe" when they lose.
I guess I really don't hate the team, just everything that comes with them!
And for my Niners, there's a time for reaping and a time for sewing. It would be pointless to tell you how great we are during our sewing period. Like saying "look at all that healthy, tall corn" when I just planted the seeds. But when we're holding on to that Super Bowl trophy, some time around 2010, WATCH OUT!
Upon review of the our schedule, I believe we will go 4-12. Possibly 6-10, if we get 1 or 2 our way.
What will the Cowboys do? And please let me know what you think their division record will be.
In contrast to wmillions answers:
Overall = Panthers
Offense = Bengals (When Palmer returns)
Defense = Steelers
Recieving core = Colts
Backfield = Chargers
Linebacking core = Seahawks
Secondary = Ravens
D-Line = Eagles
*HEART: 49ers
If "Daniel" Snyder (which the jackass demands to be called, whatever Dan!) had a brain, he would've saved some by leaving B. Lloyd in San Fran and picked up a Steve McNair or a viable backup QB.
I'm going to have to agree that TO has to be planned and played to, and is not just another reciever to cover. To play him you have to have your best cover man and safety on him at ALL times. If you leave your corner out there alone, he's liable to be slapped and danced on! Then, with Terry Glenn on the other side, you'll need somebody fast to stay with him.
But like TBuck said, it all lies on the shoulders of "has-been" QBs and none of them have good backups! It's kinda like building a great house, then putting a faulty roof on top of it.
Overall = Seahawks
Offense = Indy
Defense = Ravens
Recieving core = Detriot
Backfield = Seahawks
Linebacking core = Seahawks
Secondary = Chi Town
D-Line =Eagles
Feel my drift.....
My record prediction for the 49ers is 7 and 10. Remember fellas I am 1 and 0 with predictions. The reason I say this Alex Smith now have a great mentor Trent Dilfer from hometown school Fresno State. I also say that our backfield will be nice too with Gore back there. We also made some key secondary pickups in Walt Harris from the Redskins. I like our receiving core chances and now with the Tight-End Vernon Davis who was a beast in college and hopefully he lives up to his potential by staying the same in the league. I have to say that the 49ers will have a better chance than last year.
Alex showed good signs at the end of last season. Its not easy to take a young QB like that and bring him into the league and expect him to pickup the offense and read blitzes right away. Its like studying or prepping yourself, and he was not prepped at all last year, he will be this year.
I predict the 49ers will have a lot better year than last year.
Go Niners!!!
psssssssssssssst! Al, there's only 16 games in the NFL season buddy.
my bad, I forgot that its only 16 games. I will change that record then, its 10-6
I am really optimistic about our squad Ruf.
Alright Al, you're embarassing us Niner fans with these predictions. First it's 7-10, now 10-6? That'd put us in the playoffs! As much as I'd like to see it done, I don't think it's happening this year. I'll assume you meant 6-10 and call it a day.
Nolan has the defense ready, and I really do believe, what when you get out here. You will see about the faith motto.
Trust you will learn it quick, especially if you are going to remain a niner fan.
Also, remember who our Offense Coordinator is now? Just in case you did not know, he is like Phil Jackson in basketball, "Norv Turner"
That's why I have these high hopes...
I don't agree with your last comment, we all know that it takes a chemistry to have everything clicking in a offense. Your only viewing one year, why don't view the previous years by Norv Turner. Even the year that the Raiders got robbed from going to the Superbowl. As much As I hate the Raiders, I still have to say that Norv Turner knows his stuff.
And please don't spit on the mans legacy knowing that he's responsible for the Cowboys mid-90's run! As Cowboy fans, you should cow-tow to Norv Turner.
And to add a little insult to injury:
2 of their 4 wins came from the DALLAS COWBOYS & the WASHINGTON REDSKINS!
Talk all you want, but he beat the BOTH of the teams that employed him. The one he made and the one that fired him!
I can't say he's a great head coach, but as an offensive coordinator he's got credibility!
Say somethin'!
