Personally, I think that he may reach that mark if he stays in the game long enough. He won't charge at it and just breeze through. His pressure stats still suck in my book.
Barring Injury or Barry Bonds going to AL and DH'ing for the next couple of years-I see A-rod all over this..
I agree is not the most clutch hitter, but over the mass of a season or Career he is one of the greats.
1st Ballot HOF
Multi gold Glove winner.
The guy is a force!
If he was golfer he would great on Thursday-Saturday and choke on Sundays....
Question is would you rather have Jeter or Arod?
Oddly enough, I'm split on this one. Before, I was gung-ho Jeter (who is still the most clutch guy). I guess it would depend on my position. If I were an owner trying to fill seats, give me A-Rod. If I have a team of power hitters already, give me Jeter. If I'm trying to win a championship, Answer scenario #2 for the answer.
The problem is what team can pass on guy hitting 40 HR, 305 avg, and 110 RBI's.
I would rather have Puljos though.
Not a huge baseball follower, but in my opinion if you have someone to lead like Jeter, or Damon (before he went to the Yankees) these guys have an intangible leadership quality that isn’t there when you look at a-rod.
A-rod one of the best in the game, he can win games on the power of his bat. Make spectacular play with his glove and arm. But his drive doesn’t motivate anyone else to perform at his level. They more often just sit around and watch. Wanting to catch that glimpse of greatest they can tell their children about one day. Teams are built not bought, the day of the dynasty is done.
Well now, what now?
