Justice or Just-us?

North Carolina, 1984. A brutal murder leaves a white woman dead, and a young black man accused. Darryl Hunt spent twenty years in prison for a crime he did not commit. In 1984, a young white newspaper reporter, Deborah Sykes, was raped, sodomized and stabbed to death just blocks from where she worked in Winston-Salem, NC.

Based on an ID made by a former Klan member, a 19-year-old black man, Darryl Hunt, was charged. No physical evidence linked Hunt to the crime. Hunt was convicted by an all white jury, and sentenced to life imprisonment. In 1994, DNA testing cleared Hunt, yet he would spend another ten years behind bars.

Who Will Prevail?
2nd Round of Playoffs.

I know most of our teams have been knocked out of the playoffs, and I am sure many of us can agree that the NBA playoffs is still fun to watch.

We now have 8 teams battling it out. Who do you think will prevail? Do you really want to see the Detroit Pistons or San Antonio Spurs win again? Not I...

On the East Side- We have the New Jersey Nets vs Miami Heat ; Lebron (CAVS) vs Pistons

So far, it looks like its going to be Pistons vs Miami for the championship for the East Side. The entire Heat squad looked great last night.

As for the West side, I believe this one is up in the air. I do not see San Antonio going back for another Championship. I hate to say it that the Mavericks are going to give them a better round of playoffs than my Sacramento Kings did in the first round. I even think that Mavericks will beat the Spurs, but that's just my opinion. We all know that the Spurs is pretty deep. For the Clippers vs the Suns, this is another tough one after seeing the Clippers play last night. I have to say Clippers in 6.

New Champs Miami Heat!!! Shaq looked good last night!

What you guys think?

When does is stop?

Gentlemen,

I'm perplexed by the timetable shift that has occurred amongst the "new" adult. Is it me, or has the framework for the 25 and older individual changed dramatically in the last 20 years?

For example; by the time my father was 25 he had a wife of 7 years, 4 children, a house, and a 9-5 that he works 'til this day. I, on the other hand, have a fiance, a dog and cat, and no plans for kids for the next couple of years. This is at 26. As a matter of fact, my love and I often ponder what the social scene will be when we move to our new city. In our respective professions, the "happy hour" has evolved from a great way to end the day to an almost mandatory gathering for networking with business partners.

To that end comes my question. Will the day ever come that I have a life such as my father? One in which I go to work and return home after my time is served, never going to social/professional gatherings at local water holes. What about balancing my professional life and my home life? What about my children? We often talk seriously about the age, race, and living arrangements for our Nanny. No joke. That's a totally different post.

What do you think about the first issue? Does it ever end?

NBA PLAYOFFS

Have you been watching the NBA Playoffs?

It seems like Kobe is playing on another level. He kept his team in the game in a win to go ahead against a team that has the leauge MVP on it Phoenix Suns. Does anyone feel that he is trying to tell the league that he should have been the real MVP? I think so.

On the other hand, about my Sacramento Kings, no one belived that we will be tied in our series 2-2 against the so-called defending champs. I have to say that Sacramento is playing excellent ball right about now. I only wish we can keep it up so we can knock off the defending Champs.

GO KINGS!!!!
